The Do’s and Dont’s of Craps
Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

In the table game of Craps there are wagers that should be made routinely on the dice table
and there are wagers that are terrible for the player and should not be made. The reasons for
the wager being bad for the player, is that the casino does not pay the correct odds on the
wager on that bet. By taking these bad wagers into account the player is increasing the
house odds against his play. The secret to good craps play is to stick to wagers that pay the
correct odds. This difference between the good bets and the bad bets can be the difference
between a winning session and losing session.

The good bets include come and don’t come wagers with the behind the line bet at
appropriate odds. Other good wagers are Place bets or buying the four and the ten. Play the
hardways, craps or elven bet only when the rush is on. Push bets when the table seems to
be favoring the shooters and back off when the shooters are having a hard time making their
points. Pushing bets means to parlay winning bets or at least add to the size of the bets.
The final piece of betting strategy is follow the rush and keep as much money as you can bet
on various numbers on the table. When the seven is absent except on come out rolls, the
numbers are likely to repeat over and over again.

Bad bets on the dice table are the following and should be avoided at all times. The first bad
bet is the big six or the big eight. If you place this bet you get odds on the bet and this will
increase the winning stake. The big six or eights pay no odds. The field bet is not good as
the odds payout is to low even though there are all of those numbers that make it look like a
good bet. Those numbers belie the fact that the odds are not right on the payouts. Players
that do not take the behind the line odds bet on point bets or come bets are missing the best
bet on the table as these bets pay the correct odds on the behind the line bet.

Learn to bet the dice table correctly as this game is very fair to the players and it does not
take much of a winning streak to make the player a winner for the playing session.

Which Casino Games Have The Best Odds
Saturday, April 10th, 2010

There are multiple games in any live casino or the online casinos. Among all of these games,
which have the best odds for the player. The best odds in any casinos are found in three
games and none of them are regular slots. The games are dice, bet right, Blackjack, played
right and baccarat. Some players would suggest some versions of video poker as a favorable
game. The three table games can be bet or played right which will get the odds down to
under 2% in favor of the house. It must be all about the odds that makes these three games
popular with high rollers. If a persons can really count cards, the Blackjack odds can be
turned into a favorable odds situation for the player and against the house. This is the reason
that the live casinos do not want card counters playing Blackjack.

High rollers like to play baccarat due to the game being played out of a six or eight deck shoe
and once the shoe is shuffled, the hand sequence is going to be however the cards lie. For
this reason the shoes can end up having runs of winning hands on the bank bet or the player
bet. For these reasons players should play these games as they offer the best chance to
win.

Why Seven Card Stud
Saturday, April 10th, 2010

This classic poker game is played on most online poker sites. The game has been played
since the Civil War and is still popular with many players. Most players that play the game are
still in love with the idea of getting your own seven cards and the fact that a good hand can be
completely hidden by the three down cards. This game has a number of surprise hands
during any session. The game has many positive aspect to it, one of which is the number of
bets that a hand can have during its play. This means that the pots can be substantial at
show down time. The bigger pots are an attraction and can be huge in a Pot Limit game or a
No Limit game. Big pots make poker players get real hungry for the action.

The game is a simple game in which there are two cards dealt to all players face down.
There is then a round of betting. A card is then dealt face up to each player followed by a
round of betting. This is then done three more times with a betting round after each deal.
The last card is dealt face down and a round of betting is completed. The hands are then
showed down and the best five card poker hand wins the pot. This game replaced five card
draw and five card stud due to the fact that there was more betting and the pots were much
bigger. Players liked it also as they got more cards to make a hand with. The two extra cards
made a big difference in the hands that won. With bigger pots and more cards to make a
winning hand, the game become very popular and has been played by poker players ever
since. Some online site even hold seven card stud tournaments for their online players.
Whether it is a cash game or a tournament, the game remains popular to this day and many
sites offer the game for their players. It is an interesting fact of history that this game was a
favorite on the steam boats that plied the Mississippi and carried passengers and cotton up
and down the river.

Suggested Player Rules for Casino Play
Saturday, April 10th, 2010

All gaming casinos have rules for playing the games they offer. Maybe players should
consider having their own rules for playing. Rules are designed to keep the game on an even
keel and also to eliminate any misunderstanding. Casino rules are all about the games that
are offered and how they are to be played. A players set of rules should be about how the
player prepares to gamble, personal rules about the stake, the time restrictions on play and
the restrictions on losses. All of these are elements that should be set up before play begins
and not on the fly. Players that do not do this can easily kid themselves into a mistake. Not
all rules are negative, but they are there to control negative situations. Or to make sure that a
winning session stays that way.

The first rule of play is set aside a stake that is available for this four hour session. This
should only be a percentage of the players entire gaming stake. If this set aside stake is lost
during the four hour session, the player should quit for a while or until the next day.
Controlling losses that are greater than the amount set for a single session is not a realistic
way to gamble as the bad session does not need to end at the end of a four hour stretch of
time. In fact it can last for days or even a month. That is the reason for quiting when the loss
limit is reached no matter how long the session has been going on.

The second rule is to set a time limit of four hours and stick to it whether winning or losing at
the expiration of time. The four hour time limit is set at that limit due to the average focus time
of most players. For four hours the player can stay focused on the game and make good
decisions. After that time has passed, the players seem to slowly become less focused and
therefore not able to stay as sharp about the game or individual hands. This is not true of
every player, but it is a good rule for most. Stick with these two rules and the losses should
be lower and the wins can be taken home from the four hour session. Both rules are better
than flying by the seat of the pants.

Do Not Play When Tired or Sleepy
Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Lack of sleep or being overly tired is a good way to lose money due to mistakes in play. By
setting session limits when first setting down to a game of say four hours, this does not
become a problem. It is the all night games and playing to soon the next day that causes the
problem. Tired players make mistakes and some times begin to play on hope and not on the
cards that are dealt. Hope hands are hard to win and should not be counted on during a
game. Players that stop using their brain in a game are going to make mistakes and give
away a lot of money.

A fresh player has their wits about them and is less prone to making mistakes when playing.
For this reason sleeping till midnight and then sitting down to play is a really good idea. the
people at the table may have been there for a period of time and are getting tired. Many
players have tried this routine and it works for players that are disciplined. Tired players have
a problem staying with their discipline. Fresh players can do it for at least four hours. From
midnight to 4 in the morning can be money time for players that follow this routine.

Some players can actually take cat naps at a poker table and play well while doing it.
However most are suckers to play when they are that tired and falling asleep at a poker table.
The secret is knowing your own capabilities and how long you can stay focused on playing at
a time. There are many elements to successful play, but knowing your weaknesses and
strengths is a start to being a winner. Knowing your ability to play for long periods is
something that a player can determine themselves if they are honest with them self. Do not
kid yourself or believe you are superman, as most players are not as strong as they think they
are. Know thy self is part of being a winner. Recognizing tiredness or lack of sleep is
important to playing well for most players. Just remember to set session time limits and then
stick to them when the time is up. Poker is about deceiving other players, but never deceive
yourself. This is a time for complete honesty when looking at your self for how you react to
lack of sleep or being tired.

Omaha High
Thursday, April 8th, 2010

It is a subset of Holdem where each player is dealt four cards instead of two cards. The total
cards in a Omaha hand comes to nine card when you add the five cards from the flop.
Those two extra cards in play change the game substantially from Holdem. A pair is a very
weak hand, a set or three of a kind was a little better, straights and flushes are very common
in Omaha and full houses are somewhat less common in Holdem than in Omaha. As stated
earlier, the extra two card makes a big difference in the final hand a player may have after the
flop is complete. Holdem players have to learn the hard way when converting to Omaha, due
to their tendency to think Holdem and not Omaha when playing. Until they make the change
mentally they are very beatable by an experienced Omaha player.

In pot limit games of Omaha the betting gets stiff very early as the players all know that the
turn card and the river card can kill a hand. For this reason, players have a tendency to bet a
lot early to protect a hand they currently hold. This game is a winner for many people as it is
like No Limit, but it is a lot easier on the stake early in the game. This gentle start is not as
hard to get used to as an outright play in No Limit. Many players prefer Pot Limit over straight
No Limit as the stakes are not as hurtful early in a hand. Many players like the game more
due to its makeup of starting easy and ending like a storm or a big Holdem game. The
players are willing to play the game in hopes of getting a very good hand early so they can
push the hand for the turn and the river. The game is a good one and fun to play, but do not
start out in a Pot Limit game until you have the nuances of the game down pat. Holdem
players are going to learn the game faster, once they upgrade their value of hands. Once the
play is automatic, the player can then move to Pot Limit and try to make some money by
playing well.

How to bet a big pair in Holdem
Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Most players that play Holdem play a big pair like kings of Aces the same every time. This is
not a smart way to play a big pair all of the time. The play should depend on the table
position and not on the pair. If the player is in the first betting position the player should make
a modest bet and hope for a big raise. Positions between first and last depend on the betting
that went on at each position. Once the betting commences the big pair is able to then raise
with the knowledge that they may have the best starting hand. If the big pair is reraised the
thing to do is raise back. After the first round of betting the new bets will depend on the flop
and the way the bets come down. The big pair unaided is not as powerful as two pair can be
or a set or even a smaller pair bet with intensity.

If a pair shows up on the flop, there is always the danger that one of the betters may have a
set. But the only way to find out is to raise and see what the opposing players do. Any of
them that call but do not raise are likely to hold two pair. If you have aces you cannot be beat
by two pair. The danger at this point is you get no help and one of your competitors does trip
up on one of their pairs.

If the big pair hold up it is a break for the holder as they do get cracked all of the time and
they are not unbeatable when there are still cards to be dealt. Bet the hand like it is the holy
city and do not back off unless a tight player raises after a new card is dealt. The secret to
betting the big pair is to keep the pressure on the other players in the hand.

When a player is lucky enough to get pocket aces, the chances of them winning depends on
what the other players are holding. Most Holdem players are of the bet and pray school of
playing a big pair. Just remember one thing about a big pair, they can be beat and are beaten
often when there is more than one caller on the hand.

Anger Management When Gambling
Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Tempers and gambling do not go together well when gambling. Anger can impair the thinking
that is needed in gambling and trying to concentrate to win. The better gamblers have
learned to control their tempers when a bad beat hits them or their luck turns sour. Those that
have not learned how are destined to be victims of their own anger. Drinking cool fruit juice
keeps the body on an even keel for many players. For those that are learning to keep their
anger under control, learn to breath slowly and deeply to help gain personal control of a
temper. It is not a smart thing to drink excessively when gambling as this helps to lose control
of thinking in a rational way. Also some people are not very good drinkers and this is
important to know about yourself. People who are poor drinkers should not imbibe at all
when gambling as this will help the player make riskier decisions. Losing when drinking is an
easy way to lose more than was intended to be lost. However every one who has visited a
casino a few times has seen the happy drunk killing the casino with a rush of luck. The
problem is really simple, when the luck changes the drunk will be unable to realize it an give
back most of the winnings or more that they have won. This is the problem about gambling
when drinking. There is little rational thought left for the gambler to use when they need it.
So the answer is drink or gamble but not both at the same time. Self control is easier with a
clear mind that is not drink impaired.

The same is exactly true about anger and that is an emotion that can flair up that is not easily
taken in hand unless the person knows how to do that on the spur of the moment. Not only
that, but knowing what to do and how to do it will save money when gambling. It is so easy to
double up after a loss and hope to get even quickly. The typical situation is that the play ends
up being a loser and the loss becomes even bigger. Do not play with anger in control, take a
walk until under control again. Playing well within ones self is the answer at all times in
gambling as this cuts down the pressure of the losing situation and lets a losing streak be
overcome. Patient playing during a losing streak and cutting the size of the bets is a way to
overcome the streak. One answer is to walk away for a while and come back with a fresh
mind. Sometimes, all that is needed is a fresh start and a cleared up attitude about winning
and losing. If none of these ideas work, then let the gambling go for the day and try
tomorrow. Losing streaks do not have to stop or winning streaks either. Be smart and do not
fight the current trend of the games. Fighting a trend that is solidly in place is not a way to win
at any gambling game. The way to win is to play with the trend and not against it. In baccarat
the way to win is to follow the shoe and bet the side that won the last hand hoping that a trend
will happen and that side will have number of winners in a row.

Best Bingo 90-ball vs 75-ball
Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Both of these versions of bingo are available on many bingo sites and each has its following. Why is one game more popular than the other. Is it just preference or the count on the card or is it the games. Many players feel the games in a 90-ball version are better than the 75-ball version. Again is it the games or the version that makes the players feel that way. Many sites use the 90-ball version to play the Linx Bingo game as it has become exceedingly popular with players on a lot of bingo sites. This three in one game is a big winner in the bingo community. The divide between those players that like one versus the other is very wide and getting wider with time. Players may be liking one over the other under false pretenses. More balls means more chances to win, but is that mathematically true? No it is a myth. The difference between the two version is mostly about the cards that the games are marked on. Also the 75-ball is favored in the US and the 90-ball is favored in the UK and Europe.

How to Figure a Betting Stake
Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Every gambler has a stake to gamble with. The question about the stake is how did it come
about. To come up with a logical number for a gambler’s stake has to do with some serious
soul searching. The stake has to be money that has nobody else’s name on it. Money that
has commitments is money that will be scared when the time to take a chance comes along.
Players that have a free stake have a serious edge on the rest of the gamblers that are using
rent money or other tied up money. To gamble properly the player must not be afraid of losing
as that fear ties up the gambler and makes them too cautious. A scared gambler is easy to
bluff and they will be afraid to risk the loss on a solid percentage bet. So the answer is to
come up with a stake that has nobody calling on the money. The stake cannot have any
money that is needed for other items like rent, food or fixed bills. Gamblers that like poker or
slots need to set loss limits and playing time limits and quit when either is hit. Having a free
and clear stake, a time limit and a loss limit is a way to keep the gambler up and able to play
properly over a long period of time. The secret is playing properly and not letting losses affect
the next wager or play of a hand. Players that go on tilt due to a bad beat or a simple 2nd
best hand are not able to think clearly and then are prone to make serious errors in judgment.
Staying cool and collected in the face of adversity is not easy to do and most players at some
time in their playing career have gone on tilt. This is the best and fastest way to turn a loss
into a big loss. Once a player learns to control their emotions, the player has a chance to
become a very good player. This is the ideal character makeup of a very good gambler.
Players should strive to emulate this ideal player in order to think clearly and play with smarts
and not with hope. Brains over emotion is the best way at all times to become a winner at
games that will test the soul of any gambler that is playing.
