Dice Bets To Avoid
The dice table offers many different bets. Some are good bets and some should never be made. The ones to avoid are the Big Six or Big Eight and the Field Bets. The reason these are bad bets is the payoffs are terrible because they are too low. The better wager for six or eight is the place bet on the table. The field numbers should be made as place bets and on the individual numbers if the feeling is super strong that they are going to roll. If your hunches are creditable, then bet the numbers and forget the basket of number bets.
If you make a come out bet and get a number, make sure to bet the odds behind the number and also on all come bets after the come out number has been rolled. This is the best way to make a killing if the table turns red hot. Like all forms of gaming, the trends take over and when a trend becomes exceptionally strong like is seen on dice tables from time to time, placing bets on numbers and taking the odds is the only way to play this game correctly. More players should learn how to play craps the right way as it can be played in such a way to cut the house odds to a very small percentage against the players.
There are players that never will bet the craps numbers or the eleven or twelve. Most of the time they are losing bets, but they all pay substantial odds. My idea of this bet is pick a time when you have a strong feeling it is going to come a roll of eleven or twelve. Bet it three or four times in a row. If it misses these wagers, stop the betting. If it hits; double the bet. I have been on the eleven/twelve bet starting with a $25 dollar chip and seen it roll four times in a row, with my bet doubling each time. The amount of money you will win will depend on the roll.
Elevens pay 15 to 1 and twelves pay 30 to 1. As you can see this is a deadly bet when it hits. Over my lifetime of gambling I have made this bet many times on a hunch and been lucky enough to get the first roll and many times the second or third winner. The four in a row has happened several times and the fifth roll had the pit boss holding his breath when the first die came to rest a six and the other was still spinning. Believe me that spin seemed to go on forever until the die came to rest a number that was not a five of a six. The real pleasure was cashing out after a hit like that and not giving any of the winnings back.
