Examining the Game of BlackJack and Its Rules

BlackJack is a popular card game at casinos. Just as many people seem to love the gambling game offline as they do online. BlackJack can be played at physically located casinos or at online casinos. Here are some nuggets of information to help beginners feel more comfortable with the game. BlackJack is a fairly easy game and offers some of the best casino odds – but it is still fast paced and it still requires concentration. No one likes to waste their money, so keep the game fun and increase your odds of success by reading over these simple rules, tips and tricks:

Suits hold no meaning whatsoever in BlackJack. There are many casino card games where the suit will matter, poker is a popular example which springs to mind. This is not the case with BlackJack. Feel free to ignore the suits – just pay attention to the card point values. If you are unaware of the card point values, we covered them in yesterday’s post:
“The Ace: An ace can be worth eleven points or one point, depending on which would most benefit the player’s hand.
The Face Cards (Jack, Queen, King): All of these cards are worth ten points each.
Number Cards: The number cards are assigned their face value. For example, a two is worth two points, a three is worth three points and so on.”
- Rules for BlackJack

For most casinos, the odds are fairly simple to understand and calculate. Many casinos pay three to two odds when players hit BlackJack. This means if you bet $10, you will win a total of $15. However, you can only hit BlackJack with these odds when you get twenty-one points with the first two cards (any of the cards that are valued at ten points, coupled with an Ace serving as eleven points).
