BlackJack Strategies Over the Years
Casino games are always fair game for new and enticing strategies. BlackJack has grown in popularity since coming over from Europe in the 19th century and, as such, strategies began to grow to help people make the most of the game. Books and manuals were drawn up in order to help players learn more about the game and – more specifically – to learn how to make more money playing this particular casino and gambling game.

The very first BlackJack book of any consequence was written by a man who went by the name of Baldwin . It was called “The Optimum Strategy in BlackJack”. After this book was written, it was followed by a number of other BlackJack strategy books. When these books became popular, mathematicians began to study the game of BlackJack as well. They discovered that it was possible to improve a person’s odds while playing the game by ‘counting the cards’. It was believed that by doing so, players could beat the dealer. Coincidentally, “Beat the Dealer” was another BlackJack strategy book written by Professor Edward O. Thorpe.
Professor Edward O. Thorpe is widely considered to be the most instrumental pioneer of strategizing for the game of BlackJack. His work helped to pave the way for many of the game’s players who took part in card counting throughout the latter half of the 1900’s. Over time, the strategies were supplemented and developed further with the assistance of computer simulations.
As a result of these simulations, players and teams were able to take advantage of these strategies and theories in order to make money while playing at the casinos.
